Weiss ring (also known as Martegiani ring)

Floaters due to the Weiss ring (also known as Martegiani ring) are caused by a posterior vitreous detachment. This opacity can be very discomforting. Luckily these opacities usually are in a safe distance from both the retina and the lens. Therefore they can be treated effectively and safely with laser vitreolysis.
